JEE MAINS 2021- STUDYING TIPS FOR THE ASPIRANTS (MOTIVATIONAL POST)
Hello guys, welcome to chaos premium I hope you guys are doing absolutely fine also Happy new year from our side.
Here it is:
Here's Some of the tips I think you should follow :
- Believe in Yourself :You have to believe in yourself. Half of the war is won when you believe that you can do it. If you don't believe in yourself you are never gonna get good marks . So Make sure you say to yourself that I can Do it and I will. Even if no one believes in you, you must believe in yourself. You will see an enormous change in your approach. You will build a lot of confidence by this approach.2. Identify Mistakes :
A picture is worth a million words. You have given MAINS once and results are in front of you. Now you need to identify where you lacked.
- Are you Conceptually Weak ?
- Is your speed slow ?
- Do you get Nervous and Panic ?
- Is your accuracy low ?
- Have You practiced Enough ?
- Is one subject letting your scores down ? etc etc
You need to identify what is the factor that is causing you to suffer. There can be multiple factors that are affecting your performance. Take some time and deeply think what is exactly stopping you to score good and then work on that improving that factor.
3. Give Mocks and A lot of Mocks :
Give a lot of mock tests, a lot of them . If you are struggling with speed and accuracy, the mocks are eventually going to help you out. If you analyze the common practices of the most successful IIT JEE aspirants you will see a common thing , they gave a lot of mocks and it helped them a lot.
Mocks will help you in :
- Building Confidence
- Increasing Speed
- Increasing Accuracy
- Identifying your Strengths and Weaknesses
- Analyzing Which topics you are unable to solve questions from ?
After giving a mock the most important part is to Analyze your Mistakes and Reviewing your paper and ironically it is the most ignored part by the students. After giving a mock try to re-solve the questions that you weren’t able to solve during the test and also clarify the solutions that you couldn’t think of . Your concept will be improved a lot from this.
4. Identifying Trends in JEE papers and Solve Previous Year Papers :
Solve at least past 15 year papers (Do even more if you have time) and you will have a good idea of the questions that are frequently asked. JEE is very much unpredictable but there are certain topics that JEE loves for sure . Identify those topics and work on those topics more than you work on others. There is no guarantee that this approach always will work but there is a very high chance of this scenario to happen in upcoming JEE papers.
5. Set Targets and Develop a Strategy :
Now you know that what your strengths and weaknesses are and all you need is a strategic plan on how to overcome your weaknesses and how to make your strong topics stronger.
Make a separate list of all 3 subjects highlighting 3 fields
- Strong Topics
- Weak Topics
- Medium Topics
Now try to make Strong Topics stronger, Medium topics strong and weak topics atleast to medium.
Give priority to the topics that are frequently asked and is in your weak topics list and develop your strategy.
Note : Your Strategy should be your own. Don’t try to copy someone else’s strategy else you will suffer as every individual is different and has a different mindset and a different thought process.
6. Don’t Exhaust Yourself Too Much :
Do a lot of hard work but take frequent breaks also else your performance is going to suffer in the long run. After a Mock , Go out for a walk, Watch TV, Play games, Listen Music whatever you like doing and feel refreshed after doing it. Realize that breaks are important else your efficiency will fall and you would feel frustrated. After 2 hours of heavy problem solving take a 25–35 min break.
7. Stay Motivated and Stay Organized :
Stay Motivated throughout the journey . I know it’s easier said than done but staying motivated is one of the most important things that will help you do better. You have incurred a lot of pain take full credit from it. You may feel like giving up but think of the dream that you are following. Nothing that is worth will fall in your lap , you have to go out and make it happen.
I recommend spending daily 5–10 mins watching a video and it will push you to work harder.
Also, Stay Organized :
- Sleep for about 6–8 hours daily. Don’t cut your sleep. Your brain needs rest to work properly.
- Eat Healthy Food so that you can remain active and energetic most of the day.
- Be an Early Bird than a Night Owl. This is one of the most debatable topic but if you are a Night Owl than you will be lazy throughout the day plus motivation levels are gonna fall. Sleep at about 12 midnight and wake up at about 7 am that’s what I did, your approach may vary.
8. Limit Your Interaction with Gadgets and People :
You need to limit your hanging out with friends or perhaps going out on a date with your girlfriend . Devote most of the time studying and improving your chances of getting a good score. Don’t spend too much time on phones or TV’s ( Less time is okay, we all need entertainment, Right :) ). All these things can wait but your career should be your utmost priority.
SOME MORE LAST MOMENT TIPS :
- Practice Mocks at the same time as your final paper timings , as your brain would be biologically tuned to work faster at that time of the day giving peak performance.
- Avoid as much distractions as possible and contain your emotions of anxiety etc. We are humans and we are emotional but we need to discipline our emotions.
- Try to complete mock 15 mins before (i.e. Try to solve paper in 2hrs 45 mins and leave what is left) this added time pressure will somewhat match the pressure you will feel on the final day. Hence you are less likely to feel pressure if you do so.
- Don’t Think of the score you want to aim. In 2016, paper turned out to be difficult, many of my peers thought of scoring 300+ (which they were scoring) and ended up in 190’s and 200’s.
- If the paper is difficult, don’t feel stressed and don’t panic. I was unable to solve first 3 questions I saw and it’s one of the most difficult things to overcome on the final day but somehow I managed and a get a healthy score out in the end. If the paper is easy, don’t get excited and commit mistakes most people often do.
- Don’t ignore topics like Biomolecules , Chemistry in Everyday Life, Logic gates etc. they can sabotage your entire paper.
- Option Elimination can be a critical part in many questions. Always be open to option elimination and eliminate as much options as you can.
- In mathematics, some long questions can be solved by simply assuming values for the variables rather than solving for variables. Like a, b and c are in AP, you can safely assume a=1 ,b=2 and c=3 and solve question. Sometimes if you are lucky enough only one option matches and save you a lot of time.
- Track your marks and make an analysis of correct , unattempted and wrong answers and see if there is an improvement.
- If you get stuck on a question for more than 4 minutes and plenty of questions are remaining, go solve them first and come back if you’ve got time.
- On the final day be bold and calm. Try not to get your nerves dominate you . JEE is never a test of only your academics but also how well you handle your nerves. Stay Calm and Do your best.
